Easter Around the World - Research Activities
Do you want to broaden your pupils’ knowledge of the world while working on their research skills?
This resource is really easy to use in your classroom – there are 16 printable worksheets which cover 15 countries and include a blank sheet if there is a specific country you would like included that is not in the selection.
Pupils can then undertake their own research (at home or in class) to find out more about the Easter traditions in these countries.
Pupils are asked to
• find out what Easter is called in the country
• draw and colour the country’s flag
• write how Easter is celebrated in the country
• add a picture (drawn or printed) to illustrate how Easter in celebrated there
The countries included are:
• Bermuda
• Brazil
• Bulgaria
• France
• Germany
• Greece
• Hungary
• Indonesia
• Italy
• the Netherlands
• Norway
• Poland
• Scotland
• Spain
• Sweden
This is great way for pupils to research other cultures. All the countries have been chosen as they have a special way to celebrate Easter - my favourite is Bermuda with their kites!
On completion, pupils could present their findings to the class or they could be displayed for the whole school to see.
Pupils would also love to be shown YouTube clips of these celebrations and could even try to recreate some of them… I’d love to hear if any classes make their own kites!
Included are three worksheets covering ten endangered animals in French. There are anagrams, a word search and identify the animal from its shadow activity.
This pack provides a brief introduction to Monet in French. The resources are designed to support non-language specialists with audio in the PowerPoints and clear vocabulary. The worksheet, fact sheet and matching cards complement the information in the PowerPoints.
